Congrats.  Nice display.  Where was your venue?

We did it! First public event in the books. We weren't actively signing anyone up, because we need leaders. So we made that clear, passed out a bunch of flyers, did activities with kids, and people browsed the books, equipment, was a lot of fun!

Bear Yuba Land Trust hosts a Celebration of Trails every year on National Trails Day at the Tahoe National Forest ranger headquarters. It was really great for our scouts too because of all of the other fun outdoor themed vendors. We made it an activity for our scouts and the community to do together by teaching about the 10 Essentials, hiking stave uses, and letting them decorate their own staves. Luckily we had a lot of room. ;o)

Celeste, that looks awesome! Great job. Thanks for the photos.

Is your banner printed on canvas or vinyl? And if canvas, where did you get it printed?

On canvas. I had it done at our local Grass Valley Sign. They gave us a scouting discount, so the 8 x 2.5 foot canvas banner with pole pocket and grommets was $116. I'm more than happy to share the Illustrator or PDF file, or help anyone customize for their group. :)

Scott Hudson replied to Clint Vallee's discussion Chapeaux (Hats)
"That is correct. The availability at local surplus stores and their typical sale pricing, as well as the large shipping charges to/from the QM Store, made them impractical to stock. Other options will be investigated in the short term, with the long…"

Ethan Jewett replied to Clint Vallee's discussion Chapeaux (Hats)
"My understanding is that when Hudson stocked hats, a high percentage were returned because they did not fit quite right, and the end result was that QM consistently lost money on them. I believe that this will be revisited in light of an…"
