Hi everyone,

Important reminders re: the Inclusive Scouting Campaign and Ten Year Anniversary Award:

1. These are *not* for sale to individual scouts/leaders in the QM store. (You won't find them there when you look.)

2. They MUST be purchased (via direct contact with our QM) by GSMs (or a designated area/group QM) or by Lone Scout leaders.

3. If purchased by a group's designated QM, the patches should immediately be handed over to the GSM.

4. The above is *intentional.* To earn the TYAA, a scout completes paperwork and presents it directly to their GSM (or LSL). To earn the ISC, the scout goes to their GSM (or LSL) and has a discussion about their personal commitment to inclusivity. The GSM/LSL then presents the badge.

5. Again, setting both of these up with way was intentional and aimed at creating a meaningful interaction between scout and leader. It's a great chance to focus on individual growth and pride.

Please feel free to post any questions or comments here.

P.S. Just about 3.4 months remain to earn the TYAA

Has a decision been made about what the group 10 year award is going to be?

There will be a small pennant/flag. We are in the process of developing it.

Nice!

Does the group need to submit the application to you Sue?

Hi Clint,

I believe the Group requirements explain how to submit the results. :)  We trust GSMs to verify that their groups have completed the reqs.

What are the requirements for the inclusive scouting patch?

"Qualifying for the award is an individual matter. Each scout simply affirms, in their own heart, an intention to honor and work toward inclusivity and diversity and to treat all humans with respect. For older youths and adults, this will likely be a matter of personal reflection, although discussion of the ideas would make for a wonderful group or fireside chat. For our youngest scouts, this affirmation might be undertaken via a discussion with parents, Otter den, or something similar."
