31st River Valley is thinking of getting a parade banner. For those groups that have them, what size do you use? Could you share pictures here of what people have done in the past?

Keep us updated! This will be good to know. And let us know if/when you want more bodies in any parade!

What are the dimensions of your parade banner, Ethan?

120" x 30"

Ours was manufactured by Forge Graphics in NE Portland. It has upper and lower pockets, the upper having a multi-section carry pole (that sticks out to form the two carry handles) and the bottom having a slightly shorter (than the banner) pole that is trapped by velcro...to hold the banner taught. Does the 31st have a crest (preferably in vector artwork)?

Working on it right now. We're toying with the idea of a modified CA state highway sign.

Like this one?

Yes. That is the basic template.

Esigns.com and vista print also make banners.

Here are some more banner examples.

That's a 3' x 6' vinyl banner we had made at eSigns.com. We have two.

If you could, you should really add the word "Traditional" before "Scouting," to help differentiate our association from others like the BSA. Our official slogan is indeed "Traditional Scouting for Everyone." :)

I think we're pulling the trigger on this in canvas. I sent it in to our local sign store to get a quote. They're thinking about $115 including the pole hem and grommets on canvas.

I had it, then got frustrated with the word spacing. Thanks for reminding me to put it back in. ;o)

Better?

Scott Hudson replied to Clint Vallee's discussion Chapeaux (Hats)
"That is correct. The availability at local surplus stores and their typical sale pricing, as well as the large shipping charges to/from the QM Store, made them impractical to stock. Other options will be investigated in the short term, with the long…"

Ethan Jewett replied to Clint Vallee's discussion Chapeaux (Hats)
"My understanding is that when Hudson stocked hats, a high percentage were returned because they did not fit quite right, and the end result was that QM consistently lost money on them. I believe that this will be revisited in light of an…"
