Profile Information

Are you a member of a current BPSA group? If so, which?
Married 59 year old male, with two male adult children who were scouts (one BSA Eagle). Employed in an insurance office, enjoy genealogy, history, living history, muzzle-loading firearms, attempting engraving, and gunsmithing. Camping, hiking, hunting and fishing and living in the outdoors are favorite past-times when my wife and body will allow.
Training and teaching have been a long time volunteer activity (35+years) and very rewarding.
Are you interested in starting a new BPSA group?
BPSA-US, HQ - Northeast Region Commissioner
Lone Scout, Rover Knight. As a prior annual member (lone Scout) several years ago I realized that I truly needed to come home to traditional scouting, the pure form, the way the founder intended. I am honored to serve as a Regional Commissioner for the Northeast and envision exponential growth of Traditional Scouting, if for nothing else than combating Nature Deficit Disorder.
Any previous scouting background?
Was a BSA Cub Scout and Boy Scout. As an adult, recently shedding many hats in BSA with the most recent being District Commissioner, District Camping Chairman. I am still an inactive Troop Committee Member, Wood Badge Staff Member, District and Council Training Teams. A thoroughly humbled BSA Order of the Arrow Vigil Honor Member, and former Elangomat and Guide for the Order of the Arrow.

On the value of scouting, and scouting skills, we may take for granted.

Tuesday evening a telephone call from my youngest son, he was just in an accident with his motorcycle, he was bad, and was waiting for an ambulance. We immediately left for the hospital emergency room.  While there, we received another call from the paramedic at the scene that he would be air lifted to Albany Medical Center fifty miles away.

While we finally got to see him in the ER, we found that…

I, too am a BSA Commissioner. I'm a District Commissioner trying to transition to Asst. Council Commissioner. Here in Arizona BSA is dominated by the Mormon Church. What is the state of Scouting in Glenn Falls?
