I am getting stationed at US Naval Hospital Rota, Spain

Good day fellow scouts,

Back in November 2016 I had to negotiate for new assignment orders for my next duty station. I had two choices: stay in southern California or go to Spain. Choosing orders in the Navy isn't up to the individual Sailor, but the Sailor can give up to five different choices. On December 1st I found out that I was selected to move to Spain. Well its May almost June and I don't official travel orders in hand. I hope I will get them in the next few weeks.

As far as scouting goes, has anyone had the privilege to partake in any scouting activities in Spain or Europe?

You can contact Jay Dodson at BPSA-UK jaydodson@traditionalscouting.co.uk .  He may be able to tell you where to go.  Also look at the WFIS Europe page http://www.wfis-europe.org/wordpress/ . If you know how to speak Spanish you could join a Spanish group.
I know there are some other Rover programs in Europe but do not know their contacts off hand, but you might be able to find them with a web search.

Same situation here Clayton Smith--we are stationed in Germany and I just found out about BPSA and wish to get involved...trying to figure it out! I am guessing that as Lone Rovers we can join in many international invitational events. We went to a BSA jamboree in Normandy, France, and there were scouts from all over Europe there...Australia, UK, Belgium, France, USA. I don't have much useful information, but I can relate to your plight!

Scott Hudson replied to Clint Vallee's discussion Chapeaux (Hats)
"That is correct. The availability at local surplus stores and their typical sale pricing, as well as the large shipping charges to/from the QM Store, made them impractical to stock. Other options will be investigated in the short term, with the long…"

Ethan Jewett replied to Clint Vallee's discussion Chapeaux (Hats)
"My understanding is that when Hudson stocked hats, a high percentage were returned because they did not fit quite right, and the end result was that QM consistently lost money on them. I believe that this will be revisited in light of an…"
